The Müller-Guttenbrunn Group is the largest e-waste processor in Central and South Eastern Europe with an unprecedented recycling depth.

The MGG Metrec facility in Amstetten de-pollutes the e-waste with the patented Smasher™. After the de-pollution step a new and specialized shredder with a design capacity of 80,000 MT recovers high quality ferrous metal scrap with very little loss of copper and other non-ferrous metals in the ferrous fraction. The shredder residues are transported to MGG Metran.

MGG Metran combines a large number of innovative separation technologies to further process these electronic shredder residues into a range of non-ferrous metal concentrates as well as printed circuit boards. Even metals <1 mm can thus be extracted from these residues to be re-introduced into the material cycle. In these processes a valuable plastics fraction is created, which is delivered to MGG Polymers for further processing.
